Sounds like I'll have to buy another copy to put on my laptop, which I probably won't do. This seems a bit crazy, their copy protection is making it very difficult to use the product. Ok that's fair enough I've just bought Komplete 7 and was planning on installing it on my main DAW rig and my laptop.
Pisstake if this is correct. I'll try anyway. Seems I'll be ok.. Let me know if NI allows you to register and use it on both computers- it's still pretty confusing to me. Derek L. I cant confirm anything on Komplete as I only have it installed on my main PC, but I do have Traktor installed on 4 PCs total and 2 of those are laptops used by my studio partners, therefore I am pretty certain that at one point or another, more than 1 copy was running along with an internet connection.
So far no blacklist or warning emails.. Not sure about Komplete but I know that Kontakt can be loaded on more than one computer. That's all You can have up to two parallel installs but only use one at a time. I have it on both my OS X and Windows computers. No problem.
I have bought and legally owned hundreds of plug ins over the years and Native Instruments is the most difficult to deal with, especially since you can't load the actual software from their website, just updates it seems. Their stuff is great, but it's not that great. Nothing is. Licensing terms! Andrew Koenig , Feb 21, Messages: 12, I imagine that it is because Komplete includes a lot of applications.
Its totally feasible to want to use some of the applications on separate machines. I think its pretty reasonable to assume that a Komplete owner would have more than 2 machines. Maschine is just one program. I cant see why anyone would need more than 2 installs at one time. There has to be a limit. Thats just my guess. Karlos Santos , Feb 21, Two laptops AND two NI users Hi all, I have a similar problem, which is installing Maschine on two laptops with one serial number, but details are different: second laptops is owned by the guy I'm working in studio with, and the first one is of course mine, so we are basically trying to install it on two different laptops and with two different NI users, do you know if this is permitted?
Thanks in advance. Messages: 21, Which is to be expected. The license is for you; not for you and somebody else. Well, not so expected, if we work in pairs and I own some machines and my mate own different machines it's honest to join things we fully paid, but that's only my opinion and it doesn't matter. It is not necessary to "deactivate" an existing installation to activate the product on a further machine, but due to the license agreement it is required to uninstall the product from the previously used computer.
Apparently it is not necessary to uninstall the previous version on the other machine, you just can't use them at the same time. This is where it confuses me. How do NI know if I am using them at the same time? If I've activated my software via activation center, I don't connect to the net again unless looking for updates or activating other products. How would NI know if I am using the software at the same time on 2 systems?
I won't be using the software at the same time on both systems but should I feel the need to have a jam session with a mate or 2 and we'd want to possibly use my laptop at the same time as my pc, my question stands.
